Casa d'Ambra

Ischia Bianco / 2025 / 750mL

Tasting Note

The Casa d'Ambra Ischia Bianco 2025 is a bright, saline white from the island of Ischia in Campania, built for early drinking rather than long contemplation. Think lemon pith, green almond and a whiff of sea air — a wine that tastes unmistakably of somewhere warm and volcanic.

The nose leads with white peach, unripe pear and a squeeze of lime, with a chalky, almost smoky edge underneath that gives it more interest than the average coastal white. On the palate there is nectarine and green apple, a touch of fennel, and a bitter almond twist that arrives right at the back and lingers.

Medium-bodied and dry, the Ischia Bianco carries a firm line of acidity that keeps everything taut. Texture comes from the flesh of the fruit rather than any weight or richness, and the finish is clean, mineral and gently savoury — the kind of dryness that makes you reach straight for the next mouthful.

Serve it properly cold, around 8 to 10 degrees, in a decent-sized glass so the aromatics have somewhere to go. It is made for seafood: grilled prawns, salt-baked snapper, spaghetti alle vongole, or a plate of fritto misto with lemon. Also good with buffalo mozzarella and ripe tomato. Drink now through to 2027, while the fruit is still lifted.
