Los Azulejos Skelly Reposado Tequila / 750mL

Los Azulejos Skelly Reposado Tequila is a rested tequila from Jalisco, Mexico, made from 100% agave and presented in the distillery's hand-painted skeleton bottle. Six months in oak takes the edge off the spirit without burying the agave, giving a tequila that sits comfortably between a bright blanco and a fully aged añejo.

The nose opens on cooked agave and citrus peel, with lime and pink grapefruit lifting above a warmer layer of vanilla, dried herbs and toasted oak. On the palate there is roasted agave sweetness up front, then black pepper, a touch of cinnamon and a savoury, almost briny thread that keeps the fruit honest.

Texture is the point of difference here: smooth and lightly oily rather than sharp, carrying gentle heat through the middle before a clean, mineral-salted finish. The oak influence is measured, adding roundness and a soft caramel edge instead of dominating, and the aftertaste leaves a pleasant peppery tingle and a return of that citrus lift.
