The Vincent Grenache / 2025 / 750mL

Tasting Note

The Cirillo Estate The Vincent Grenache 2025 is a bright, perfumed Barossa Valley red that leans towards lift and fragrance rather than bulk. Grenache in this style is all red fruit and spice, with enough grip to keep it honest at the table.

Raspberry, red cherry and a touch of dried orange peel come first, with white pepper and a faint turn of rosehip and thyme behind them. The palate follows the nose closely — juicy red berries, a dusting of baking spice, and a savoury edge that stops the fruit becoming sweet.

Medium-bodied and fine-grained, with powdery tannins and acidity that runs clean through the middle. The finish is dry and gently chalky, leaving red fruit and a little earthiness rather than heat or weight. A light chill of twenty minutes does it no harm at all.

Pour it with lamb skewers off the barbecue, pork and fennel sausages, a tomato-heavy ragù, or a plate of jamón and marinated olives. It also handles duck breast and roast beetroot with ease, and is forgiving enough for a mixed table where everyone has ordered something different.

Drink from now through to around 2031, with the first few years showing the Barossa Valley Grenache at its most fragrant and the later ones trading some fruit for savoury complexity.
