The Teperberg Impression Sauvignon Blanc - Chardonnay 2024 is a bright, dry white blend from Israel, made in a kosher and mevushal style. Sauvignon Blanc brings the lift and cut, while Chardonnay fills out the middle, giving a white that is crisp without being lean.
Aromatically it leans green and citrus-driven: cut grass, lime zest, green apple skin and a little white peach underneath. There is a faint tropical edge to it, more passionfruit seed than ripe mango, which keeps things fresh rather than sweet.
The palate is light to medium bodied with a clean line of acidity running the length of it. Grapefruit and nashi pear sit over a slightly creamy texture from the Chardonnay component, and the finish is dry, zesty and short enough to leave you ready for the next sip. Serve it properly cold.
Good with grilled fish, schnitzel, hummus and warm pita, chopped salads with plenty of lemon and parsley, or a roast chicken on a Friday night. It also works simply as an aperitif on a warm afternoon.
