100% Sangiovese with some seriously quality oak handling. Cherries, red plums, vanilla, baking spices on the nose, with a finish that lingers. Acid provides fantastic structure and tannins are resolved after a few years in bottle.
Single vineyard wine from Tarrawarra in the lower Yarra. Spur pruned MV6, 777, D4V6 and G5V15 clones on sandy loam soils with north western aspect at 140m elevation.
Entirely destemmed. Cold soak and fermentation in open fermenters. Selected yeasts. Hand plunged. Large format oak. 30% new Damy Alliers French oak for 11 months on lees.
